National Stop The Bleed Day

National Stop The Bleed Day is a one day call to action that will take place on Thursday, May 23rd, 2019.

Experts say it takes between 3 - 5 minutes to die from blood loss, while the average time for 1st responders to arrive is 7 to 10 minutes. This is where bystanders can help. People are encouraged to get trained with techniques so they can stop life-threatening bleeding. Incidents, like mass shootings or natural disasters, along with everyday accidents in the home, could expose people to bleed out.  To get trained and help prevent death from blood loss, go to https://nationalstopthebleedday.org/.
