July is designated as National Lost Pet Prevention Month.  According to the American Humane Society, approximately ten million dogs and cats are lost nationwide. Every year during summer, pets are outside more, and travel plans are in full swing, making the chances for pets to go missing increase. Try to keep your pet indoors at all times during summer celebrations.  If you must leave the house and take your pet, be sure to keep your pet leashed and wearing a collar with current tags at all times.
