Holiday Shopping By Phone
Remember when Cyber Monday first became a thing? The idea was that people would return to work after the Thanksgiving Day weekend — and use their high-speed internet connections to make purchases because their home systems and phones weren't up to the task. That isn't the case anymore. Adobe Analytics, which tracks online spending, says a lot of shopping is being done away from desktop computers or laptops. It says mobile devices accounted for 51.4 percent of site visits — and 34 percent of revenue on Cyber Monday. Adobe is also reporting increases in online spending for both Thanksgiving Day and Black Friday.
