Run 4 Sharks

Shark survivor tri-athlete Maria Korcsmaros is turning her painful experience into action to save the sharks and educate the public.

She has organized a 5k/1Mile Fun Run at Newport Dunes on November 18th to raise awareness about sharks.

She has chosen to get behind the non-profit Shark Stewards and its founder biologist David McGuire. She says its mission is to save sharks from trade as well as lobby for marine protected areas.

Korcsmaros says she is fully functional after being bitten by a shark while swimming at Corona del Mar, Big Corona Beach in 2016.

Registration is open for the Inaugural 5k/1 Mile Fun Run at Newport Dunes. The website www.run4sharks.org
