Laguna Niguel will host a noise monitoring workshop

Ever since the Federal Aviation Administration had implemented its satellite based flight navigation system with concentrated paths, Laguna Niguel has experienced complaints about plane noise.

Tonight, the City Council will host a workshop to address the concerns.

City Manager Kristine Ridge says the city had hired consultant HMMH to conduct a study, which involved measuring airplane noise levels at two different Laguna Niguel sites over two days. She says the study did indicate the jet noise level in the two areas weren’t substantially higher than the ambient noise.

Those interested may pose questions to the consultant.

Ridge says the public needs to realize the city can’t sue the FAA regarding plane noise.

Tonight’s City Council meeting begins at 5:30.
