Rancho Santa Margarita may have a splash pad

The Rancho Santa Margarita City Council this evening may approve a contract for the design and construction of a splash pad at Central Park.

Mayor Jerry Holloway says a splash pad is a smaller version of a water park, where water shoots out of the ground. And there’s jungle gym type of equipment for kids to play on and get wet. He says if approved, the splash pad would be constructed in an area of Central Park, near where the city’s summer concert series is held. And it would be ready for users no later than July 1.

Tonight’s City Council meeting begins at seven.
