Whale Migration
Gray whales are moving along our Southern California coastline to Baja California to mate and or give birth.
Whale expert retired Orange Coast College Marine Science Professor Dennis Kelly says the whales are between 38 and 48 feet long and they’re moving six to eight knots per hour. They’re generally constantly moving, but sometimes they stop to rest or play with each other.
He says they can often can be seen from the coast, pier or on a whale watching boat.
Kelly is the guest on our public affairs show “Collage,” which airs this evening at seven. “Collage” may also be heard anytime on-line: www.Jazz885.org
