Great ShakeOut drill

More than 20 million people around the world will participate in today’s Great ShakeOut Earthquake drill.

The Earthquake Country Alliance created the first ShakeOut in 2008 and more people participate each year.

At 10:17 this morning, which corresponds with today’s date 10-17, everyone will be encouraged to Drop, Cover and Hold On.

The Alliance hopes besides taking part in the drill, participants will work on securing their furniture, TVs and other hazards and hold communications tests with their families.
