Laguna Hills Mall developer goes over proposed redevelopment plans
The Laguna Hills Mall developer Merlone Geier Partners appeared before the public during the Laguna Hills City Council meeting.
Mayor Pro-Tem Janine Heft says in front of a packed room, the Partners explained how they may develop the 68 acre property that had been named the Five Lagunas and is now being called Village at Laguna Hills.
She says the property will have three main areas retail, commercial and housing/residential. The amount of space for each will be determined by demand.
Heft says the developer will hold a public forum with an open house to get feedback on the plans.
She says the key aspects of the site will include a 125 room luxury hotel; three or four major commercial anchor tenants, one being Nordstrom Rack; state of the art movie theater and three plus acre park, which includes a dog park and a running stream area.
So far, it’s unknown when construction will begin.
