Man, 57, dies while scuba diving off Southern California

Authorities say a 57-year-old scuba diver died after being found unconscious floating in the water off Southern California's Laguna Beach.

The Orange County Register reports the coroner identified the man as Joseph Noah from Forestport, New York.

Noah was discovered by three other divers last Saturday in Shaw's Cove. He was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The newspaper says the coroner ruled his death as a drowning, but also found evidence of coronary artery disease.

Noah is the second diver to die off Laguna Beach in the last seven weeks.
