New parent charged in college bribery case will plead guilty

A California woman is the latest parent to be charged in the college admissions bribery case. Federal prosecutors in Boston say 57-year-old Karen Littlefair paid $9,000 to have someone else take online courses for her son in 2017 and 2018 to help him graduate from Georgetown University. She has agreed to plead guilty to a single count of conspiracy to commit wire fraud. Prosecutors say Littlefair paid William "Rick" Singer to have one of his employees take three courses through Georgetown and one through Arizona State University on behalf of her son. Georgetown officials declined to say if they took disciplinary action but said they have the authority to revoke degrees.
