California considers calling THC in pot a risk to moms-to-be

A California panel is considering if the chemical in marijuana that produces a high should be declared a risk to pregnant women and require warnings. Studies say a rising number of moms-to-be have turned to marijuana products for relief from morning sickness and headaches. Cannabis industry groups say there's not enough research on the health effects of THC to make the change that will be discussed today. And they warn the rule could pave the way for a flood of lawsuits. The U.S. surgeon general has warned that smoking marijuana is dangerous for pregnant women and their developing babies.
