Dana Point Trolley Program extension

The Dana Point City Council tonight may approve a cooperative agreement with the Orange County Transportation Authority to allow the summer trolley program to continue for at least three more years.

Councilmember Debra Lewis says the Council may accept a nearly two million dollar grant to extend the seasonal weekend summer trolley program through June 30, 2024. This will give the city the ability to offer the service from Labor Day through the first weekend in October and provide long term maintenance of the trolley and do program outreach to the community.

She says in addition, the city will work to connect the trolley system with multiple neighboring cities including San Clemente, San Juan Capistrano and Laguna Beach.

Tonight’s City Council meeting begins at six.
