Irvine named 2nd happiest city out of 182 largest in U.S.

WallHub has determined Irvine is the 2nd happiest city among 182 of the largest cities in the U.S. It based its findings on 31 key indicators ranging from depression rate to income –growth rate to average leisure time per day.

Analyst/spokesperson Jill Gonzalez says Irvine is number two for many reasons including having a low separation and divorce rate which is below 20 percent, which is among the lowest in the country. Also, the unemployment rate is 2.7 percent. The life expectancy rate is among the highest in the country at age 82-and-a-half.

WallHub indicated the top happiest city is Plano, Texas. Other California cities making the top ten are Fremont at number four; Huntington Beach, number 5; San Jose, number eight; and San Francisco, number ten.
