Third District Orange County Supervisor Special Election

In the special election to fill the vacant Orange County 3rd District Supervisor seat, it appears Irvine Mayor Don Wagner has won the race. He gained 42 percent of the votes over former Congresswoman Loretta Sanchez’s 37 percent. And there are an estimated 15-hundred ballots left to count. There were seven candidates on the ballot.

The seat became vacant when Todd Spitzer became Orange County District Attorney.

The 3rd District spans Yorba Linda, Anaheim Hills, Orange, Villa Park, Tustin, Irvine and areas of unincorporated Orange County.

Wagner may serve through the end of next year and then seek re-election.
