Suicide at Don Juan Avila Middle School

The Capistrano Unified School District will have counselors available at its headquarters in San Juan Capistrano today until four in the afternoon for anyone impacted by what occurred early this morning at Don Juan Avila Middle School in Aliso Viejo.

Orange County Sheriff’s Department Public Information Manager Carrie Braun says deputies were called to the school at 6:30 this morning and discovered a 13 year old boy dead from an apparent suicide. Both the middle school and the elementary school were closed while an investigation continues.

The Capistrano Unified School District says both schools will be open tomorrow with counselors available for anyone needing them.
