Holocaust survivor meets youths in swastika pic

The 89-year-old stepsister of Anne Frank has met with Southern California high school students who were photographed giving Nazi salutes around a swastika formed by drinking cups at a party.

Holocaust survivor Eva Schloss spoke to the youths at Newport Harbor High School in Newport Beach.

Schloss told reporters it was an emotional meeting in which she described her experiences during the Holocaust at the Auschwitz death camp.

Schloss says the students apologized for their behavior and indicated they didn't realize what it really meant.

Schloss says she thought the students had learned a lesson for life.

School officials say she met with a group of about 50 people including students involved in the incident, student leaders, parents and community members.

The photo surfaced last weekend, shocking the community.
