Mission San Juan Capistrano
In the heart San Juan Capistrano is Mission San Juan Capistrano. It was founded as the 7th of 9 missions established by Saint Serra on Nov. 1, 1776.
Mission Executive Director Mechelle Lawrence-Adams says most people start their visit at the mission by going to the bell wall where the bells ring seven times at nine in the morning to mark its opening.
They may enjoy learning about the mission with the use of an audio tour that’s in five languages.
She says each year 77-thousand students, teachers and chaperones visit the mission.
She’s the guest on our public affairs show “Collage,” which airs this evening at seven. “Collage” may also be heard anytime on www.Jazz885.org
