Orange County Point in Time Count Results
The County of Orange released the results of the 2019 Point in Time Count, which occurred on Jan. 22.
County of Orange Public Information Manager Molly Nichelson says on that day more than a thousand volunteers counted individuals experiencing homelessness.
She says 6,860 individuals were counted and of those, 2,899 were sheltered, while 3,961 were unsheltered.
Nichelson says the results also show there were 110 unsheltered families and 356 sheltered families. The total number of people in these households was 1,550. Of those, 584 were adults and 966 were children.
She says the data collected will be used to help the homeless.
