Screen time for kids
Have a kid — or grandkid — who is adept at using a touch screen on a smartphone or tablet? The World Health Organization warns that you might want to keep tabs on how long they spend looking at such devices. It says children under age 1 should never look at such screens and those under 5 shouldn't spend more than an hour peering at them. It's the first time the U.N. health agency has issued guidance on how much screen time youngsters should be logging. And the findings are in line with advice from the American Academy of Pediatrics. However some groups say the screen time rules failed to take into consideration the potential benefits of digital media.
