Garden Grove Strawberry Festival
The Garden Grove Strawberry Festival runs Friday through Monday of next week on the Village Green.
It’s celebrating its 61st year. It kicks off Friday with the world’s largest strawberry shortcake, which is served free to a thousand attendees. Saturday there is a parade. And during the festival run, there will be plenty of food, games, rides and entertainment.
Garden Grove Mayor Pro-Tem Stephanie Klopfenstein recalls her childhood memories of going to the festival. To her it marks the beginning of summer. She couldn’t wait for school to end so she could enjoy going to the festival.
She’s looking forward to bringing her daughter to the annual event which attracts over 240,000 people over the festival’s four days.
Klopfenstein along with Garden Grove Strawberry Festival Association President Dawn Miller are the guests on our public affairs show “Collage” which airs this evening at seven. “Collage” may also be heard anytime on-line on www.Jazz885.org
