Big rig driver killed in fiery crash in Orange County

The driver of a big rig transporting mail for the U.S. Postal Service was killed and another motorist was arrested on suspicion of DUI after a fiery crash in Southern California.

The California Highway Patrol says the semi struck a Honda early Saturday after the driver of the sedan hit a sign post and guard rail and spun around, ending in the slow lane of State Route 22 in Garden Grove.

Officer Duane Graham said the driver got out of the car before the big rig struck the Honda, then crashed into the center divider and overturned, bursting into flames.

Graham said a 26-year-old man from Irvine was arrested on suspicion of DUI.
