Kidnap suspect surrenders in Los Angeles
Los Angeles police have taken a kidnap suspect into custody after an approximately five-hour standoff in downtown Los Angeles.
SWAT officers used tear gas to force the man out of a parked car shortly before 8 this morning but didn’t find the alleged victim.
Authorities had been seeking 27-year-old Robert Camou since witnesses reported seeing 31-year-old Amanda Custer being put into the back of the car yesterday in suburban Monrovia.
Los Angeles County sheriff's Lt. Scott Hoglund says officers found blood at the scene in Monrovia.
Hoglund says Monrovia police have handled numerous domestic violence incidents involving the pair.
Los Angeles police say the case has been turned back over to the Sheriff's Department and Monrovia police.
