OC Fair opens Friday

The OC Fair and Event Center in Costa Mesa begins its yearly 23 day fair Friday. It’s closed Mondays and Tuesdays.

The theme is “Acres of Fun.” There will be plenty of food, games, rides and exhibits.

Fair Communications Director Terry Moore says the exhibit halls are fun to visit to see what other people are collecting such as bottle caps, commemorative dishes and movie posters.

She says those who visit the floral building get to enjoy air conditioning to cool off from the summer sun.

On Friday, parking and admission is free between noon and three.
