Tall Ships & Ocean Festival
In celebration of California’s rich maritime history, the Ocean Institute in Dana Point will host its annual Tall Ships & Ocean Festival Sept. 6th through the 8th.
A fleet of five historic tall ships will sail into the Dana Point Harbor giving visitors the opportunity to tour and learn about California’s past.
Ocean Institute Maritime Programs Director Dan Goldbacher says the cannon battles between the ships are fun to watch and experience on the ships. He points out, the cannons are actual blanks. During the three day event, the cannon battles will go on between 4:30 in the afternoon and 8:30 at night.
Other activities include Breakfast with a Mermaid, tours, and music.
Goldbacher and Ocean Institute Public Programs Director Alexandra Latona are the guests on our public affairs show “Collage,” which airs this evening at seven. “Collage” may also be heard anytime on-line: www.Jazz885.org
