Sad Songs With Good Friends

A radio show focused on music scenes and genres of emo, hardcore, post-rock. indie, and many more sub genres of rock. The music's space and scene has a long reach across the world but doesn't maintain a mainstream limelight for it's not appeasing to the neurotypical. Many of the lyrics and tone can be lost in translation to most listeners that aren't fans of the scene. With that being said the music that come's from these bands continue to be the most complex and and impossible sounds through their instruments that any musician can enjoy.

About the Host

My name is Kiyyaa Semeret, I'm a 26 year old student veteran at Saddleback College studying Journalism and New Media as well as a Associates of Science in Radio Broadcasting. I served in the Marines from 2016-2020 as Infantry Rifleman with V 2/4 Echo Co. My love for music and a deep conversation has lead me on the path that I am now. The music that really love to listen to and make is Midwest-emo and math rock which is also the biggest focus of my show "Sad Songs With Good Friends". I have used the music that I listen to and make to help with my depression and anxiety and hope try and make a space for people struggling with such issues with my show.
