Laguna Beach will increase patrols

Laguna Beach’s Police Chief Laura Farinella has gotten her wish from the City Council, an allocation of 150-thousand dollars to add a full time foot and bicycle patrol at Main Beach and Heisler Park.

Mayor Pro Tem Steve Dicterow says Farinella had told the Council there had been violent crime in those two areas in recent months and whenever more resources are added to troubled areas, crime is decreased.

Dicterow says if crime is reduced from the increased patrols, the Council will consider keeping them in the next budget cycle.
