Lake Forest Mayor highlights

Lake Forest Mayor Jim Gardner will preside over his last meeting as mayor tonight, as the city will continue the yearly tradition of selecting a new mayor and mayor pro-tem. He will also be leaving the Council as he wasn’t re-elected.

He says the highlights of the year include insuring the city is debt free. And points out Lake Forest is the only city in the U.S. that is debt free.

He says the other highlight is enabling residents to participate in City Council meetings via Facebook Live.

He says many times, there were more people participating in the meeting via technology than that were at the actual meeting.

Tonight’s City Council meeting begins at seven.
