Laguna Beach may improve land use entitlement process

The Laguna Beach City Council next month intends on working with the public to develop an improved land use entitlement process.

Mayor Pro-Tem Steve Dicterow says the approval process can take two to three years to build a house or remodel one. And in order for a project to be approved, it must go through several departments including Design and Review, Building, Zoning and the Fire Department.

Dicterow says he’d like the process to take less time, and be less costly, less contentious, and less stressful.
