Dana Point community survey shows resident love city

The Dana Point City Council heard the results of two citywide surveys.

Councilwoman Debra Lewis says one was on how the community feels about city services. The consultant told the Council people love living in the city; it has a high quality of life; good services and police services.

She says the positive numbers were higher than in the last community survey.

Lewis says the top concern was homelessness, which the consultant indicated is also the top negative issue that’s expressed in other community surveys.

She says the survey on the districting for City Council elections indicate 50 percent of those questioned prefer to have four districts and voters select the Mayor at large, whereas 29 percent like the current system of five districts and the Council selects the Mayor.
