Rancho Santa Margarita may have a 5k Run

The Rancho Santa Margarita City Council this evening will again talk about hosting a 5k run this year.

Mayor Jerry Holloway says the original idea was to have it on Labor Day, now the recommendation is to have it on Veteran’s Day. And it will focus on honoring the Camp Pendleton marine unit the city sponsors, along with local first responders and other veterans in the city.

The city in the past, had hosted a 5k community run between 2005 and 2009. 

Tonight’s City Council meeting begins at seven.
