Third District Orange County Supervisor Special Election

In the special election to fill the vacant Orange County 3rd District Supervisor seat, Irvine Mayor Don Wagner is leading over former Congresswoman Loretta Sanchez. There are seven candidates on the ballot.

The seat became vacant when Todd Spitzer became Orange County District Attorney. The Orange County Registrar of Voters’ website indicates Wagner has 41 percent of votes while Sanchez has 36 percent of ballots. And there are still an estimated 92-hundred ballots left to count.

Whomever is elected will serve through the end of next year, and may seek re-election.
