Hikers missing in Southern California mountains found safe
Two hikers who vanished in snowy Southern California mountains last weekend have been found safe.
The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department says the two were located "safely" yesterday but other details weren't immediately released.
Thirty-one-year-old Gabrielle Wallace from Rancho Cucamonga and 33-year-old Eric Desplinter from Chino Hills went missing Saturday in the San Gabriel Mountains.
They were believed to have been headed toward the 8,860-foot Cucamonga Peak near Mount Baldy, just northeast of Los Angeles. They were described as experienced hikers who were carrying proper equipment for the icy conditions.
Teams of search-and-rescuers, aided by helicopters and dogs, scoured the rugged terrain for them.
