Rancho Santa Margarita will issues fines for street sweeping violators

Rancho Santa Margarita intends on issuing citations to those who park on streets when street sweeping is scheduled.

Mayor Jerry Holloway says the City Council has approved the first of two readings of an ordinance which calls for fines to be issued on vehicles parked on 14 targeted areas in the city, where street sweeping occurs weekly.

He says warning citations will be placed on violators’ vehicles for the next two months and then on June 17, actual citations will be issued. The fines cost 50 dollars each.

Holloway says for the health of the community, it’s important to have clean streets.

The no parking signs will soon be installed on affected streets which are listed on the city’s website: www.cityofrsm.org
