Orange County Sheriff’s Dept Take Me Home program
The Orange County Sheriff’s Department has launched a regional registry to assist families and caregivers of those who have certain medical conditions, special needs or disabilities that may make communication with law enforcement difficult.
It’s called the “Take Me Home” program.
Laguna Niguel Chief of Police Services Lt. Matt McDaniel will make presentation on it during tonight’s City Council meeting.
Deputy City Manager Debbie Bell says through the program, a family could register a family member and give a picture to the Sheriff’s Department along with specific information that would be helpful in returning a missing loved one home.
The Take Me Home program was piloted in Mission Viejo and Laguna Niguel in April. Full implementation was launched July 1.
Tonight’s City Council meeting begins at seven.
