Irvine Lake will reopen August 17

After being closed for about three years, Irvine Lake in Santiago Canyon will reopen on August 17.

Third District Orange County Supervisor Don Wagner’s Communications Director Rachel Lurya says he was able to work with the Serrano Water District, the Irvine Company and the Irvine Ranch Water District to get the man-made lake to again be available to the public.

Lurya says it will be open to shoreline fishing only starting on August 17. No fishing license is required.

And then it will be open Friday through Sunday between seven in the morning and four in the afternoon.
