Lake Forest will fine water fowl feeders
Starting tomorrow, Lake Forest code enforcement officers will issue one-hundred dollar fines to those who feed the ducks and geese at the pond at Veterans Park.
Community Services Director Scott Wasserman says the city had spent more than two and a half million dollars to renovate the park and it wants it to remain clean.
He says when people feed the birds it attracts too many and the animal waste causes problems for those who are there to enjoy the park.
Wasserman says the city spends a great amount of money to pressure wash the park’s walkways three times a week.
The park is located near Ridge Route and Muirlands.
